I moved to Grand Junction in 02 from Jacksonville Fla. I have a business building furniture, cabinets and remodeling homes/offices. I am very active outdoors with, hiking,climbing,mountain biking, slot canyons in Utah, snowboarding, camping, white water kayaking and what the seasons provide. I have been practicing yoga for four years. The yoga has enabled me to acomplish all the activities above. I'm a college graduate that moved to GJ in August 2009 for work and I am passionate about my field.

I'm a professionally rated pilot (but not flying for a job... the airline industry is in the tank). I am (and chances are good this will be Greek to you): Commercial Multi-Engine, Single-Engine, Airplane-Land Instrument with Tailwheel, High Performance, High Altitude endorsements and aerobatic training. In addition, I've got my Certified Flight Instructor and Multi-Engine Instructor certificates. I taught in Bozeman, Montana (where I call home) and Auburn, Alabama for 3 years prior to moving to Colorado.

I'm a bit of a black sheep in my family. I was always the independent and rebellious one. I broke trail. In a family full of doctors and attorneys, I was the different one. Adventure, danger, and a bit of enigma was always my thing... that's why I got into aviation.

I'm driven and hard-working, love living life to the fullest. I'm a risk taker, but try MOST of the time to make them calculated risks. Again, you could say I'm somewhat attracted to precarious situations. I'm the guy that can walk into a room of people I've never met and feel totally comfortable... and I'll walk out with everyone remembering my name. Three times in my life I've moved to an area where I knew not a single person. Three times it's worked out. That's just the kind of guy I am. I've never met a stranger. Just people I hadn't met yet.

I've lived everywhere from the east coast, to the northern Rockies, to Dixie, and now Colorado. I've liked most of those places, LOVED a couple. I've got southern roots and all the habits that come with it: morals, ethics, yes sir, yes ma'am. (Failed to gain the accent though... on MOST words/phrases.) Manners and politeness go a LONG way in this life.

Well lets see where do I start? Let's start with what I look for in a man. I would like a man that is not afraid to speak his mind, even if it hurts, I would rather know the truth then someone soften the blow with a half truth, half lie. It would be cliche to say I'm never sure what to write in these "About Me" sections, but there's a certain amount of truth to it. I mean, there's this weird semi-business and yet oddly romantic aura that we're all trying to express in this little box - somewhere between a job interview and a third date - and it puts a lot of pressure on a person to come up with a way to sell themselves in five hundred short characters.

I am relatively new to the West Slope and I just reached a milestone that I have been striving toward for a much longer time than expected. I feel like I get to start fresh and I get to choose what fresh looks like!

I have a loyal companion (a pooch) to whom I promised endless hours of outdoor fun when I adopted him, a promise I am just now beginning to fulfill. He is an older Aussie and pretty much the greatest.

I also love to ride bikes- my past is mostly road and I am getting into mountain though riding around town brings me just as much joy! Every last Thursday of the month (and 13Aug) there is a "Junk ride" that starts at 7p from 10th and Main. Not to be missed. There are other regional rides year round and I would love to find more people who want to go with me.

It is just as important to me to be involved in my place as it is to enjoy my time outside and I have found a couple issues here in GJ in which I hope to immerse my volunteer self and try to solve. q' mas???

I'm just trying to find someone in this town that I can relate to, and have a good time without trying too hard... Someone who just "gets it!"

Im' a fairly recent transplant from Washington State (the last four years). 'm project manager for a large Heating and Refrigeration company in Grand Junction currently doing the new Mesa State Dormitories on Norh Ave. I live in Palisade and love the outdoors. Hiking, skiing, riding bikes and playing music around town whenever I can. I've been a musician most of my life and keep hacking away at it hoping someday to get good at it. Ha! I love conversation, meeting new friends, travel and making people laugh.

I like to think I am the coolest person on the planet, however that is usually not the case. LOL I am a single Mom of 2 daughters. I love my life! I am a very outgoing person once I get to know people, until then I am a little closed off, maybe even seem stuck up, but it's just that I am shy. I like trying new things, and new experiences. I just moved to Grand Junction about 6 months ago. I am from Louisiana so moving to Colorado was a culture shock for me. I have been in Colorado for 10 years now however, and lived in Denver till a little bit ago. So I don't really know anyone here, so it's a little hard finding things to do by myself. I spend a lot of my time with my daughters, which is amazing. However, being an adult and doing adult things would be nice sometimes. I am excited to get out a little more and have some fun. I like playing pool, and watching movies. I like all music, with the exception of a song here and there. When we can't find the words to express how we feel there is always a song that says it perfectly. I am very open minded. I am not judgemently. I think the things that people do in there life is there business, but it doesn't mean it has to be a part of my life style. I know it sounds so cliche` but I love the beach, it is the most amazing thing on earth. I live in the mountains, and long for the ocean. LOL. Traveling is something I have always loved, but never have been out of the country.

So where to begin, I am a History nerd, that often feels I was born in the wrong century, none the less I deal with this crazy world I have been placed in to the best of my ability. I love thunder storms, and puddle jumping through the rain. If there is a lack of rain then I shall substitute sprinklers and pretend that there is thunder and lightning.
I enjoy watching foreign films, while drinking beer and eating pizza. I am known to randomly burst into song. Especially old Cartoon Theme songs, my favorite being the Gummie Bears, and Duck Tales (bonus points for you if you know what i am talking about)

I greatly enjoy discussing politics, religion, history, over wine or coffee. I can be quite sarcastic and enjoy the dry humor of the British. I am known to watch the History Channel, Discovery, National Geographic, CNN and of course Cartoon Network. Ghost Hunting is a favorite of mine, and I love to tour old cemeteries and buildings.

What more can I say...lets see Halloween is my favorite holiday, green favorite color, I love all sorts of music, I greatly enjoy oil painting I love tasteful tattoos. I love micro brews, and am a great supporter of Red Ale's. I love hiking, camping and backpacking. I enjoy hot Indian food, tea and coffee.
